There were recent posts on social media talking about money being placed on the sidewalk face down, home security cameras going blank and then coming back on and people hiding in bushes near the money. This was said to have occurred in the Wheatstone area of North Londonderry Township. At the end of the post, it states that the Borough police were contacted and said this is a new sex trafficking lure and the money is sometimes laced with fentanyl.
Since learning of this post Palmyra Police and North Londonderry Township police have been working together to verify if this incident has occurred.
Currently no incidents have been reported to either department.
In addition, we have also spoken to law enforcement that deals with human trafficking and they advised that placing money on the sidewalk laced with fentanyl is not accurate.
